FAQS

You’ve Got Questions. We’ve Got Answers.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE BOARDING FEES?

Your dog will stay in a kennel suite with a Kuranda raised bed to sleep on, with fluffy vet bedding.  Just as it is at home, our kennel blocks are fully heated 24 hours a day during the cold winter months and whenever it dips below 10 degrees, the heating is popped on.

Your dog will be out in the paddocks, at least 6 times a day.  We have 5 paddocks, all offering a little something different to allow the dogs to explore and have a good romp.  We like nothing more than spending time with the dogs whilst they are out, in the paddocks - playing ball or hide and seek.  We have bubble machines and paddling pools, during the warm summer months for dogs to splash and cool down in.   It is a full-on day at QBK, with lots of great off lead fun with down time to relax and snooze, in between.

All kennel blocks have televisions, to mimic being at home - the dogs watch a variety of films during the day.  At bedtime, we move over to Alexa who plays a variety of music that dogs enjoy (Alexa : please play dog music).

We have cameras in all the kennel blocks that allow us to see the dogs remotely and allow us to talk to the dogs, if needed.   We also have state of the art CCTV that captures comings and goings, specific areas of the paddocks and kennel areas.   The safety of your dog is paramount to us.

We do our best to upload photos onto the QBK Facebook page daily - we love nothing more than showing off our happy holidaymakers, having a great time.

Unless you'd prefer to bring your own food, your dog will have the choice to dine on an array of fine foods, including Wilsons Cold Pressed kibble (all varieties), Eden Holistic or Forthglade in both wet and dry varieties.

Friday Fish Supper and a Sunday Roast are on offer, if you think they'd appreciate a little extra something special, during their holiday at QBK. All completely dog friendly and it won't upset sensitive tummies.  We also offer special treats to the dogs including home made ice cream (dog friendly), biscuits and cool watermelon on hot summer days.  We have a huge selection of treats from Gravy Bones to goose feet.  Each dog has a cow's hoof to chow down on, if allowed, when they first arrive for their holiday at QBK.  They act as natural Kong toys, that keep the dogs occupied and their minds busy.

We have a freezer dedicated to Nature's Menu raw food.  Your dog is welcome to try our raw food or you can bring your own.

Your dog will be fed twice a day, though we are very happy to mimic the routine your dog has at home.

If your dog has a special prescription diet, you will need to supply this.

We do not offer a reduction in rates, to supply your own dog food.

You are very welcome to bring along your own beds or bedding and any toys that your dog loves to play with.  I do not accept rawhide chews, into the kennel suites.  Please don't bring along any precious blankets or toys - just in case they are misplaced or manage to go home, with another guest.

If your dog is on medication - we are well equipped to administer all kinds of drugs.  We are very happy to welcome dogs with complex medical needs, including diabeties and epilepsy.  Keitha is Canine First Aid trained.

QBK is very routine based and does the same thing, at the same time, every day.   The dogs love the routine and slip back easily into life at QBK for future holidays.

We cater for all breeds and whether your dog is young or old - they have as much time out enjoying themselves, as is possible.

Arrange a Meet and Greet to meet us and see for yourself, why we are the top rated boarding kennels, in Fife.

DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE VACCINATED TO HOLIDAY AT QBK

Your dog is required to be fully up to date with his vaccinations, to holiday at QBK.

We must see the vaccination card for every holiday.

We do not accept dogs that are not vaccinated.

CAN I COME ALONG AND MEET YOU?

We'd be delighted to arrange a mutually convenient time to pop along for a Meet and Greet.

This will allow you the chance for a wee chat and your dog a chance to sniff the air and get themselves acquainted with us at QBK.

It is a lovely way to introduce your dog to us, in a relaxed and informal setting.

We no longer offer viewings of the kennels as it upsets the holidaymakers. This is their home, whilst here and we won't upset their routine or the lovely calm, chilled atmosphere at QBK.  Some of the more timid dogs become distressed when strangers are near them - we are very much all about the dogs and their welfare and wellbeing.
